#24 Nature Connections April

Nature Connections April

Picture(s) of the Month

I took a trip to see my grandmother who lives in Bath. We decided to take a drive since it was so nice out that day. We drove to Fort. Popham and Popham beach. My gram used to take me here all the time when I was little and seeing it again after 10 years was quite different. I felt like everything was smaller and what I remembered as a child was completely different now. We walked around the Fort, it was still closed for the winter months and then we walked around the edge of the beach, finding a bench to sit on and look out of the water for awhile.

Celebrating Earth Day:

DIY seed bombs with simple materials you can pull straight from the recycling bin or use scraps of colored paper.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 3-4 Packages of Flower Seeds
  • 3 Sheets of Construction Paper (we used blue, green, and white)
  • Food Processor
  • Scissors
  • Water
  • 3 Small Containers
  • Baking Sheet and Parchment Paper (drying seed bombs)

Include all kinds of sensory words,  like “find something rough” and “find something smooth".

Books:

Curl up the a good nature book:

I chose to go through my books to see if I had any on nature. Since it was a rainy day outside, I curled up by my sliding glass door with a comforter wrapped around me at got to reading. Here are some of the books I looked at. It was a trip down memory lane for me.
